What We Do - Health & Wellness Services

Chiropractic

Chiropractic care in itself encompasses a variety of methods:

MANUAL ADJUSTMENTS

Manual adjustments are accomplished by applying a light thrust at a specific location on the spine or
affected joint and are commonly used to alleviate neck or back pain. Most of these methods are
gentle and pain-free.

INSTRUMENTS

Hand-held instruments are a good option for more effective treatments in certain instances. An
Activator is a spring-loaded, mechanical instrument that allows your chiropractor to provide a
quick, low-force impulse at a specific point. Your chiropractor may also use Instrument Assisted Soft
Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to effectively address scar tissue and treat areas exhibiting soft tissue
fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

BLOCKING – SOT (Sacral Occipital Technique)

This method involves using specially designed blocks to correct imbalances in the pelvis through zero-force,
gravity-influenced adjusting. This is very effective for treating many conditions.

CRANIAL

Just as the spine and other joints can become imbalanced, the cranial bones (8 individual bones)
can be imbalanced and shifted out of place. Adjusting this area is a profound way to influence the
body to make dramatic changes. These adjustments help the cranial bones to shift back to the
proper position, allowing function to be restored.

ART

ART is a patented, state-of-the-art soft tissue therapy based on massage technique that treats
muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. As a result, your chiropractor can get to the root
cause of your pain or discomfort. The following are just some of the many conditions that can be
resolved quickly and permanently with ART:

  • headaches
  • back pain
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • shin splints
  • shoulder pain
  • sciatica
  • plantar fasciitis
  • knee problems

of your pain or discomfort. The following are just some of the many
conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART:

  • headaches
  • back pain
  • shin splints
  • shoulder pain
  • sciatica
  • plantar fasciitis
  • knee problems
  • tennis elbow

These conditions all have one important thing in common – they are often a result of overused muscles.

HOW DO OVERUSE CONDITIONS OCCUR?

Over-used muscles (and other soft tissues) change in three important ways:

  • acute conditions (i.e., pulls, tears)
  • accumulation of small tears (micro-trauma)
  • not getting enough oxygen (hypoxia)

Each of these factors can cause your body to produce tough, dense scar tissue in the affected area. This scar tissue binds up and ties down tissues that need to move freely. As scar tissue builds up, muscles become shorter and weaker: tension on tendons causes tendonitis and nerves can become trapped. This can cause reduced range of motion, loss of strength, and pain. If a nerve is trapped you may also feel tingling, numbness, and weakness.

Laser Therapy

Therapeutic lasers have been used for healing and recovery purposes since 1965 and are constantly
being improved upon. They work by supplying energy to the body in the form of non-thermal
photons of light. The body absorbs this external energy on a cellular level and transforms light
energy into chemical energy, which dramatically speeds up the healing process.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) has a photochemical effect (like photosynthesis in plants). One of the
main mechanisms of actions is an increase in cellular metabolism, thereby increasing energy
production in the cell. The results are immediate: faster tissue repair and reduced inflammation and,
most importantly, decreased pain.

Improper foot mechanics can wreak havoc on your posture and may even be the root cause of pain in your feet, knees, hips, lower back, and/or neck. Custom-made orthotics provide tremendous relief.

Our state-of-the-art Foot Levelers scanner is in our waiting room so you can scan your feet free of charge before your appointment – it only takes a few minutes. Shortly afterward we receive the image and results so we can discuss it during your visit that same day.

If orthotics are necessary we will help you choose your best option(s), then send your scan, results, and order to the Foot Levelers lab, where they will custom make your orthotics, usually within a week.

Clinical Nutrition

Nutrition plays an important role in any health and wellness goal. Your chiropractor will be glad to work with you to create a nutrition plan best suited to your current health needs and goals. There are many ways to bolster preventative care, as well as alleviate or eliminate current symptoms.

We also offer a food and chemical sensitivity test – the ALCAT TEST. More than 450 individual substances can be tested from a single blood draw. Identifying substances that negatively affect you will offer relief or elimination of inflammation-driven symptoms of acute or chronic disorders such as:

  • Gut (celiac, IBS, Crohn’s disease, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, gastritis, acid reflux)
  • Metabolic (obesity, Type 2 Diabetes, thyroid, inability to lose weight)
Skin (acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, urticaria)
  • Musculoskeletal (stiff/sore joints, arthritis, tendonitis, fibromyalgia)
  • Respiratory (chronic cough, asthma, post-nasal drip, wheezing, sinusitis
  • Neurological (chronic fatigue, headache, migraine, cognitive impairment, ADD, ADHD)
